We are pleased to say that our boy Orinoco has bonded very well with us.It did take time as of course it does with all hedgies. He still has the huffs occassionally which we expect but in general is a very inquisitive friendly hog.How are you all getting along with the bonding process?

A nasty un-tame hedgie may bite you Very Happy
But in general hedgies do not bite if they are bought from a good breeder that has handled them from very young.

You bond with your hedgie by handling it everyday offering treats and talking softly to it.
It is a process that takes patience but will pay off.

There is really no such thing as a nasty hedgie just a stressed hedgie.

Not much i can add to that other than when you first get your hedgie you should begin handling it for a max of half an hour each evening.
Your new friend will soon respond to your patience and gentleness and will eventually stop huffing at you.
Very rare for a hedgie to bite.

it's like a hissing sound that hedgies make in defense.
